1. Choose your materials

You’ll need a bamboo frame, silk fabric, glue, string, and a tassel for decoration.

2. Cut the silk

Cut the silk to fit around the bamboo frame, leaving an extra inch on each side for folding.

3. Glue the silk to the frame

Use glue to attach the silk to the bamboo frame, pulling it taut as you go.

4. Fold the edges

Fold the edges of the silk over the bamboo frame and glue them in place.

5. Add the tassel

Attach a tassel to the bottom of the lantern using string or ribbon.

6. Add the handle

Tie a string or ribbon to each side of the lantern to create a handle.

7. Decorate your lantern

Use your creativity to add any additional decorations or flourishes to your lantern.

08:30	Go to Hoi An Lantern workshop The tour guide will introduce the lantern sample at some shops, and restaurants that are most popular in Hoi An on the way to the workshop.
09:00	Transfer to Lantern Workshop at Tran Cao Van St, Hoi An. The guide will instruct you to focus on the construction of the lantern base from a bamboo frame onto a wire, and then position them around the base and the top as the shape desired.
09:30	Choosing the fabric color for your lantern from the great selection of silk fabrics
10:00	The instructor explained the meaning of the color, red is simply for good luck, yellow is for Buddhist and represents Hoi An...
10:10	After selecting your desired fabric, you carefully glue and stretch the material over the frame, making sure that it’s sticky, and then you neatly trim the fabric. The neatness of your trimming is the most important to make your lantern beautiful.
