Legend Da Nang Golf Resort: Where Nicklaus Meets Norman on Vietnam’s Coastline
If you’re playing golf in central Vietnam, Legend Da Nang Golf Resort is not the course you skip. It’s the kind of place that quietly raises the bar. Not just because it’s Vietnam’s first 36-hole layout, but because it brings together two of the biggest names in golf course design — Jack Nicklaus and Greg Norman — in one coastal stretch just south of Da Nang.
Located in Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, the club sits right between the Marble Mountains and the sea. From Da Nang International Airport, it’s about a 25-minute drive, depending on traffic. You’ll know you’re getting close when the road opens up and you start catching glimpses of fairways framed by white sand dunes.

Two Courses. Two Mindsets. One Place
Let’s break it down. You’ve got two completely different 18-hole experiences here:
The Norman Course (A&B)
This is the original — designed by Greg Norman, opened well before the second course came along. It’s a links-style layout with a raw, natural edge. Think fast fairways, rolling dunes, wind that can mess with your club selection, and very few trees. The bunkering is wild. Some holes run right along the sand, and the wind off the sea isn’t just for atmosphere — it’s part of the challenge. No over-the-top landscaping here. Just solid, strategic golf that feels like it belongs in Scotland, but plays out under the Vietnam sun.
I played it on an early morning round in March. The light was soft, the course nearly empty. There was this moment on hole 16, with the Cham Islands in the distance and the surf whispering in the background, where I just stopped and looked around. It’s that kind of place.
The Nicklaus Course (C&D)
Totally different vibe. This one opened later and is Asia’s first bulkhead-style course, inspired by classic Florida layouts. Jack Nicklaus Design went all in here — they even imported the timber bulkheads from the U.S. The result is striking: water hazards with clean, vertical wooden faces and pristine white sand edges. It’s more polished, more technical. You’ve got elevated greens, a few dramatic tee shots, and some deceptively tricky approach angles.
The Nicklaus Course also has night golf, which isn’t just a gimmick. I teed off around 5:30pm and played through the golden hour. By hole 9, the lights came on, and everything took on this surreal glow. Playing under the floodlights with the shadows stretching long across the fairway — it’s a whole different experience.
Rates, Real Talk
Let’s get into the numbers. As of June, here’s what you’re looking at:
- Weekday rate: from 2,750,000 VND
- Weekend rate: from 3,580,000 VND
That includes green fee, caddie, and shared cart. Booking through Elink Golf usually gets you better rates than walking in. Trust me — it’s worth locking it in early, especially on weekends or during peak months like January–May.
Facilities: It’s All There
Beyond the golf, the resort has everything covered. The clubhouse is sleek and modern, with a restaurant serving high-end Vietnamese and Western dishes, plus a pro shop stocked with gear that’s actually useful. There’s also space for meetings if you’re squeezing in a corporate round, and the service is dialed in — staff are attentive without being overbearing.
And if you’re looking to stay nearby, Hoiana, InterContinental, and Hyatt Regency are all within easy reach.
Why It Stands Out
You won’t find many clubs in Asia — or anywhere — where you can play two world-class courses in such contrasting styles, side by side, in one location. And when one of those courses lights up after dark? It’s hard not to be impressed.
The Norman side gives you wind and wild dunes. The Nicklaus side brings shape, structure, and visual drama. You can play them both in one long day if you’re up for it, or split them over two and really take your time.
Legend Da Nang Golf Resort isn’t about gimmicks. It’s about the game. Pure and simple. And if you’re anywhere near Da Nang — whether you’ve got a single-digit handicap or just want to soak up some coastal golf vibes — you owe yourself a round here.
