Vinpearl Golf Nam Hoi An – A Laid-back Coastal Golf Escape Worth Planning Around

If you’re anywhere near Hội An or Đà Nẵng and love golf—or even just need a break from the usual beach-lounging—Vinpearl Golf Nam Hội An is worth a detour. It’s about 30 minutes south of Hội An by car, an hour from Đà Nẵng city, and feels like its own little world once you’re there.

I played a round there in early April. The weather was kind. Dry, breezy. Just enough wind to remind you this is a true coastal links-style course, but nothing brutal. I got there by Grab from Hội An—cost me around 450,000 VND one way (roughly $18), and the driver waited while I played, which turned out to be the right move since it’s not exactly in the middle of town.

About the course: it opened in 2018, and it’s part of a bigger complex that includes a resort, water park, even a farm and amusement rides. So if you’re traveling with someone who couldn’t care less about golf, they’ll still have options.

But let’s stick with the golf. This 18-hole, par-72 course stretches just over 7,000 yards from the back tees. Designed like a modern links, it’s got wide fairways, rolling dunes, and big white bunkers that pop against the coastal greens. Visually, it’s a stunner. You’re playing with the ocean breeze in your face and casuarina trees lining a few of the holes. It’s mostly flat, but not boring—there’s enough movement in the fairways to make your second shots interesting.

There are two driveable par-4s on each nine, which is rare and fun. The kind of holes where you stand on the tee debating risk vs. reward with yourself or your playing partners. The par-3s mix it up too—some short and cheeky, others long enough to demand a hybrid or fairway wood if the wind’s up. The greens are gentle—not many wild slopes—but they’re quick and smooth. Good pace. Rewarding if you’re hitting your lines.

Hazards? There are a few water features, but nothing punishing. Mostly, it’s the wind and bunkers that shape your strategy. You’ll probably use your driver more often than not. It’s forgiving off the tee, which makes the whole round more relaxed—especially if you haven’t played in a while or you’re working on your swing.

The clubhouse is modern and clean, with solid food options. I had a cold Tiger beer and some bánh mì gà after the round—nothing fancy, but good quality and not overpriced. The locker room’s spotless, showers are strong. You’d expect that from a place like Vinpearl.

If you’re traveling with a family or group and not everyone’s playing, Vinpearl works really well. There’s a beachfront hotel and a big mix of activities—water park, spa, even a little cultural village setup that’s actually not bad for a quiet stroll. Feels more like a self-contained resort than just a golf club.

Is it worth it? Yeah. Especially if you’re looking to combine a few days of relaxing with a proper round or two. Compared to other big-name courses near Đà Nẵng like Montgomerie Links or Ba Na Hills, Vinpearl feels a bit more open, more casual. Still polished, but not trying too hard. It’s a good course to ease into Vietnamese golf if it’s your first trip.

Would I go back? Definitely. But next time, I’d stay overnight—play 36, then just crash at the resort and watch the ocean roll in.
